O That Rugged Cross, My Salvation

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit..." {1 Peter 3:18}

My heart is heavy as I read through the events that happened many years ago today. Why? Why Jesus? Why the Son of God? Why me? Why a sinner like me?

There is no other answer than the truth of His love. He loves me. My heart breaks, but I am filled with hope because I know that this isn't the end. There is more to come after his death.

Oh the hope I find in the cross,
oh the rugged cross,
where I find my sins exchanged
paid with a price,
all through the blood of Christ,
my precious salvation...
my precious, precious salvation...
